Miyoguru transcends time and space. His music mixes the ethereal world of energy with the experimental sounds of this dimension, in a way that leaves his listeners feeling as if they’ve traveled to the cosmos and back. He brings a rare and unique passion to all he does, going beyond the music, he encapsulates everything that is life.
Born and raised in the colorful contrast of the 5th most violent city in the world, Tijuana, Mexico, singer, songwriter, producer and self taught multi-instrumentalist Oscar E. Castro holds memories from early childhood, of the violent, religious, and corrupted environment that surrounded him, which quickly translated to what he recognized as a clear call to action.
After his dad introduced him to his 8 track and vinyl record player at the age of three, along with the collection of 60’s and 70’s rock and folk music he had gathered while working as an immigrant in California, the sound of this music forever changed his life. From this place there was ignited a deep love and appreciation for the power of music and sound to be a force of reckoning in the world.
Oscar started playing in rock bands at the age of 12 and relied on his music as an outlet for childhood trauma and the immense feelings of rage and confusion he felt towards his environment, and the oppression he saw and experienced in this world. He continued channeling this same energy as a frontman vocalist/guitarist with various Indie projects all over Mexico until the age of 25, when he changed his focus and experienced a spiritual awakening and powerful shifts in reality, and soon after moved to the United States.
Miyoguru was born from this awakening and the desire to use music as a tool to shift and heal the environment that plagued him in his youth. Embracing his first solo project with a total change in sound and style, he has risen above the tragedy and has found celebration in all things. His first EP, “Ori”, is set to release June 1st, 2019, and brings with it a message of healing, self-realization, enlightenment and love. Laced within the foundation of guitars, experimental sounds and hauntingly beautiful vocals, lies a portal for the listener to channel their own inner God and know that they can create any reality they desire.
